Technology is part of our everyday lives, and it’s important to know how to stay safe while using it. This is why the ACCCE and Snapchat have collaborated to raise awareness in the community of online grooming and sextortion.
As part of the collaboration two resources have been developed, one for parents and carers, and one for young people.
The Parents guide is designed to help parents and carers understand the issues and have conversations with young people about online challenges and red flags to keep in mind. It also covers how to support and report to police if something goes wrong.
The Teen guide helps young people to learn what online grooming and sextortion are, the signs to look out for and what to do if they need help.
